und zwischen allen möglichen sonstigen Krisen.
lyrics
Der große Tag
Jeder macht sein eignes Ding,
jeder hockt in seinem Bau,
überall geht’s traurig zu,
wohin ich guck und schau.
Bei Regen und bei Sonnenschein,
ob’s hagelt oder schneit:
Jeder hockt in seinem Eck
Und tut sich selber leid.
Jeder flickt sein eignes Leck,
aufs Ganze schaut er nicht
aber das wird alles neu,
erscheint in neuem Licht
an dem einen großen Tag,
wenn wir uns verstehn,
wenn wir an die Grenze kommen
und keinen Wächter sehn,
kein Stacheldraht, kein Tor, kein Mensch,
nichts, das uns hindert mehr,
Kein Posten da, der dich befragt,
wo willst du hin, wo her.
Was wird das für ein Staunen sein,
ein Raunen, Rufen dann,
wenn jede Grenze zwischen uns
zerfällt wie Zauberbann.

The big day
Everyone does their own thing,
everyone squats in his den,
It's sad everywhere,
everywhere I look.
In rain and in sunshine,
whether it's hailing or snowing:
Everyone squats in their own corner
And feels sorry for himself.
Everyone patches their own leak,
He doesn't look at the big picture
but it all becomes new,
appears in a new light
on the one great day,
when we understand each other,
when we come to the border
and see no guard,
no barbed wire, no gate, no human being,
nothing to hinder us anymore,
No guard there to question you,
where are you going, where are you coming from.
What a wonder it will be,
a murmur, a shout then,
when every boundary between us
crumbles like a magic spell.
